Translucent flooring panels manufactured by Mykon are suitable for both outdoor and indoor spaces.
The unique fish-eye effect of Mykon’s B-Clear aluminium honeycomb panels is achieved by bonding aluminium honeycomb core in between toughened glass skins.
The B-Clear panel range has a 78% light transmittance value, achieved through the distinctive hexagonal centre capturing and diffusing light making it an ideal material for translucent flooring. Each individual cell allows light to filter through but together the cells remain translucent to ensure privacy when it is required.
Mykon’s translucent flooring panels are scratch resistant, easy to clean and highly resistant to deflection. The panels can be sandblasted or made non-slip for safety with the option to add underlighting or backlighting also available.
Specifications
A suitable supporting structure is required for all flooring panels on which Mykon’s technical team can provide advice or assistance.
B-Clear panels are fabricated in sizes up to 2500mm x 1250mm with a standard structural panel thickness of 40mm overall with 6mm glass (complete with structural and fire test certificates) although we are capable of creating bespoke panels with a depth of 15mm to 100mm. Occasionally production will recommend 50mm overall with 8mm glass for floors without certification.
Exposed panel edges can be finished with a selection of standard edging materials including clear or coloured edge strips or encapsulated in aluminium edge profiles. Our technical team are also able to calculate individual panel load deflections to suit any project requirements.
Due to the high strength to weight ratio of Mykon’s composite panels they are durable and long lasting making them the ideal material for flooring panels.
